Blues in the Schools Volunteers

Interested in helping the schools?

If you’re a musician or music aficionado and are good with kids, we’d love to have you join us. Take a look at some of the opportunities available to get involved in Blues in the Schools:

  • Musicians: If you play guitar, bass, harmonica, keyboard, drums, washboard, or are a vocalist, we could sure use your talent to support the main presenter with your instrument. You will also get to play some with a full band. Talking welcome, but not required!
  • Presenters: You will present from an outline, often alongside one or more musicians, either in classrooms or an auditorium, often in short 15-minute segments. Good with kids and educator experience a plus, but not necessary. Training, presentation outline, and other support provided. Programs run during school hours and may be once a week or once a month, depending on demand, and could run anywhere from 1-3 hours each. Because we work with school kids, all of our participants must complete a background check.
